Univerza Alma Mater Europaea je 4.2. s ponosom gostila eminentnega britanskega zgodovinarja Richarda Jamesa Overyja, ki je v sklopu aktualnega predavanja »Why War?« predstavljal svojo novo knjižno uspešnico (Penguin Books, London, 2024).
Na predavanju je eden najpomembnejših zgodovinarjev naše dobe delil analizo dogodkov, ki so zaznamovali preteklo stoletje in jih preslikal na današnji čas. Edinstvena priložnost za dijake, študente, zgodovinarje, ljubitelje zgodovine in humanistike ter širšo javnost, da v živo prisluhnejo avtorju, katerega nabor več kot dvajsetih knjig sodi med temeljno bibliografijo vsakogar, ki se ukvarja z zgodovino druge svetovne vojne, njenim gospodarstvom in diktatorjih 20. stoletja ter pojavom nacizma, nacistične Nemčije in njenih ključnih osebnosti.
Slavni gost je k napovedi predavanja zapisal: »Warfare is a fundamental element of the human story, true thousands of years ago and still true today. Why are humans the only animal species to have evolved with the capacity to kill their own kind in large numbers?
