The Museum of the Nazi Camp Stalag XVIII D visited a busload of students and teachers from the Anica Černejeva Makola Elementary School.
Such places of historical suffering are of great importance to children and young people because they transform history from “dry data” into a human experience. When young people see testimonies, photographs and places where people really suffered, they understand the consequences of hatred and violence more easily and are more able to face the present.
The students and teachers also expressed their opinions and feelings in statements, which we have summarized in a short film.
