An international conference was held in Moscow between 20 and 21 November to mark the 80th anniversary of the start of the Nuremberg trials (20 November 1945) with over 400 participants. The plenary day was held in the central Moscow exhibition hall Manezh, where an exhibition reconstruction room from Nuremberg was staged, and original recordings were also shown. The second part of the conference continued in the Victory Museum.
The day before, the International Research Centre for the Second World War Maribor (MRC Maribor) in Manezh solemnly opened a historical exhibition on the systematic Nazi repression in occupied Europe and the Nazi prisoner of war camp in Maribor (Stammlager XVIII D) and the cruel Nazi treatment of Soviet prisoners of war. At the opening, co-author and external advisor to the MRC Maribor Oleg Kalinin and Doku Zavgayev, director of the Leo Tolstoy International Peace Prize Foundation and former ambassador of the Russian Federation to Slovenia in 2009–2019, spoke in front of a large crowd of visitors.
